OCEANSIDE–Investigators arrested a man Thursday accused of stabbing a woman on a sidewalk earlier this month in Oceanside, according to the Oceanside Police Department.
The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Hunter Berger-Parks of Oceanside. He was charged with attempted murder.
On June 20, shortly before 8:30 p.m., Oceanside police officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 500 block of Roja Street. A 32-year-old female victim was attacked by a suspect, that was unknown to her, on the sidewalk.
Witnesses described the suspect as a White male in his early 20’s, wearing an orange shirt and jeans. Initially it was believed by the hospital that the injuries were non-life threatening. However, once she was in surgery it was found that the injuries were life threatening. She was viciously attacked and sustained multiple stab wounds. Detectives were able to locate security video footage of the suspect.
The victim remains in critical condition.
