POWAY–San Diego County Sheriff’s Department detectives arrested a man Monday accused of sexual assault of a 34-year-old woman at Poway Community Park Sunday.
The suspect, Ryan Joseph Rasmussen, 39, was taken into custody without incident and was booked into jail on the charge of assault with intent to commit rape.
Rasmussen grabbed the victim from behind, pulled her to the ground and attempted to sexually assault her. A witness heard the victim’s screams and pulled Rasmussen off the victim. He fled the scene on a bicycle, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
