POWAY–A man was accidentally shot in the leg at a Poway shooting range, Sheriff’s deputies said Wednesday.
At about 12:07 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Poway Weapons and Gear shooting range,located at 13550 Danielson Street, to investigate an accidental shooting. While target shooting with .22 caliber rifle, a 12 year-old boy dropped the weapon after a hot bullet casing burned him. When the rifle hit the ground it fired and the bullet hit a man in the leg. The injured man was driven to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury.
Poway detectives are investigating this incident.
