EL CAJON–The City of El Cajon needs volunteers to help with the assembly of a one-of-a-kind, customized playground at Wells Park on June 5 and June 7.
The existing playground at Wells Park is in need of replacement. A new playground will provide youth with a new area to play in.
The City of El Cajon, Foresters, Stoney’s Kids, Boys & Girls Club of East County and KaBOOM! (a national non-profit organization that has built more than 2,400 playgrounds) have designed a customized playground for Wells Park, located at 1153 East Madison Avenue. The playground, funded primarily by Foresters, was created from personal drawings and local community members’ input collected during a recent special design day on April 3. The input came from all ages, children through seniors.
The playground “building days” will take place on June 5 and June 7. Wells Park is located at 1153 East Madison Avenue in El Cajon. Individuals highly skilled in the area of construction are needed for the June 5 prep day, and again for the June 7 build day. Hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on June 5, and on June 7, hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
