OCEANSIDE–A 91-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle as she was crossing a road in Oceanside, authorities said Friday.
Oceanside police officers responded, just after 6 p.m., to calls of a serious injury collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian in the 200 Block of North El Camino Real. Upon arrival, officers located a 91-year-old female lying in the southbound lanes of El Camino Real.
Based on witness statements and physical evidence at the scene, it appears that the female was crossing the road in between intersections across the southbound lanes of El Camino Real when she was struck by a vehicle, a 2013 Kia.
The woman was transported to Scripps La Jolla Hospital with potentially life threatening injuries. The motorist was not injured. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.
