OCEANSIDE–A man is in serious after suffering a gunshot wound to the chest at an Oceanside park, authorities said Thursday.
Just after 1:05 a.m., Oceanside police officers responded to a call of a person down in the Ron Ortega Park, located at 200 Brooks Street.
A witness discovered the victim who had sustained a life threatening gunshot to his upper body. He was transported to a local hospital and is currently being treated.
Oceanside police do not have any information on a suspect at this time.
Detectives are currently investigating the shooting and are asking for the community’s help.
