Oceanside, CA–Fire crews responded to a commercial fire Saturday evening in an industrial area in Oceanside, fire officials said.
The Oceanside Fire Department was dispatched to a report at 8:02 p.m. of a fire alarm at 3801 Ocean Ranch Blvd.
Upon arrival, fire crews saw light smoke coming from the structure. Due to the type and size of the building, they waited for an additional engine to come on the scene prior to making entry. This is done for the safety of fire personnel and is known as the two-in, two-out rule, an OSHA policy. Once inside, firefighters were able to locate the blaze and quickly extinguish it, Oceanside Fire Department Battalion Chief Wes McGee said in a news release.
The blaze was held in check with the support of a fire sprinkler system in the building. Contents located within the building had caught fire, but the structure itself was not involved, fire officials said.
No firefighters or civilians were injured, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Oceanside Fire Department.
