Vista, CA–Staff at Tri-City Christian School went into safety protocols Wednesday after they received a call from someone who claimed to have a bomb and threatened to blow up the school, authorities said.

Classes had just ended at around 2:45 p.m., and the school was in the process of releasing the students at the time the call was received, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.

The school immediately activated its safety protocols and contacted the Sheriff’s Department.  Deputies arrived at the campus to assist school staff and investigate the threat. The students were moved away from the campus to a safe area where they could be picked up.

After a thorough search by deputies, the campus was determined to be safe, and business resumed as normal. No devices were found on campus. There were no injuries reported and all students were accounted for and united with their families.
