Legal Professionals Raise Money At 8th Annual “Couture For A Cause” Fundraiser‏

October 6, 2015 By sdcnews

SAN DIEGO–Seven San Diego legal organizations has raised more than $40,000 at the 8th Annual fashion show fundraiser “Couture for a Cause.”
The first is Voices for Children, a nonprofit working to ensure that abused, neglected and abandoned children who have become dependents of the San Diego County Court will have a safe and permanent home. The other charity, STAR/PAL, empowers underserved youth to build a safer and more prosperous community by engaging with law enforcement and collaborative partners.
“The event was a great success and we’re thankful to all our supporters who contributed to helping us surpass last year’s amount and our target goal for 2015,” said Henry Angelino executive director at Higgs Fletcher & Mack and chair of the 2015 Couture for a Cause steering committee.
Couture was hosted by the San Diego Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators in partnership with the International Legal Technology Association-San Diego, Legal Marketing Association-Southern California Chapter, San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association, San Diego Legal Secretaries Association, San Diego Paralegal Association and the Tom Homann Law Association of San Diego.
The evening featured Patricia Zlaket, Esq. of Zlaket Law Offices, APC as Mistress of Ceremonies and Health Savings Associates Insurance Services, Inc. as the Platinum Sponsor.
The fashions were supplied by Ron Stuart Men’s Clothing and Chico’s Fashion Valley. Models included retired judge Linda Quinn of Judicate West, along with San Diego attorneys Sophia Behnia of Littler Mendelson, Melissa Deleon of Casey Gerry, Victor Huerta of the Law Offices of Victor Huerta, Michael Neil of Neil Dymott, Derek Paradis of Higgs Fletcher & Mack, Jaikaran Singh of Dentons and Beth Wendle of Morris Polich & Purdy. Vivianna Penn modeled on behalf of Voices for Children and Gisell Aguirre participated from STAR/PAL.
The proceeds from the event will benefit two area children’s charities.
