Lemon Grove, CA–Agents with the San Diego Regional Fugitive Task Force Monday arrested a 15-year-old male on suspicion of the murder of a local high school student, authorities said.
The juvenile was taken into custody around 7 p.m. near the 8100 block of Mazer Street in Lemon Grove. He was booked into the Juvenile Detention Facility.
It is the policy of the Sheriff’s Department not to release the identity of underage suspects.
The suspect and the victim attended the same high school. The circumstances and motivation are still under investigation.
On June 11, just before 2 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to the southwest corner of Palm and Mulder Streets in Lemon Grove for a report of a male with a gunshot wound to his upper torso.
Deputies and paramedics arrived and found a 15-year-old male dead on the sidewalk. Prior to their arrival, an unknown male was seen running from the location where the victim was found.
