SAN DIEGO–Homicide detectives arrested a male juvenile and charged him for the alleged murder of at 16 year-old San Diego resident, San Diego police said Tuesday.
The suspect and victim were known acquaintances, according to police. The victim has been identified as Jose Daniel Sotelo.
On January 31, at 9:58 p.m., San Diego Police Department received a 911 call of a male down on the sidewalk of 2400 East Jewett Street in Linda Vista. When officers arrived, they located an unconscious male who had been stabbed in his upper torso. Lifesaving measures were performed by paramedics, but the male succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The male was booked into Juvenile Hall. In accordance with state law, the juvenile suspects name cannot be released.
