RANCHO SANTA FE–Using the philosophy that feeding the mind and soul is as important as feeding the body, Jimbo’s…Naturally has donated $14,000 to help support Helen Woodward Animal Center’s, “AniMobile” program.
Helen Woodward Animal Center (HWAC) Director of Development Renee Resko says, “Our friends at Jimbo’s…Naturally named Helen Woodward Animal Center as the recipient of their annual Customer Appreciation Sale on April 10. Customers who shopped at any of the four Jimbo’s stores in Carmel Valley, 4-S Ranch, Carlsbad, or Escondido were given the option of either taking a discount or donating 5% of the price of their purchase to HWAC.”
Resko says that, in addition to the donations that come from individual shoppers, Jimbo’s is also donating 5% of the entire day’s sales to HWAC.
“It’s an honor to be chosen to receive this gift,” says Resko. “Once each year Jimbo’s selects a deserving non-profit organization to be the beneficiary of their Customer Appreciation Sale. We’re proud that Jimbo’s is recognizing the Center’s efforts to provide humane education for children in our community.”
HWAC’s AniMobile is a mobile classroom that visits Title I schools in low income areas of San Diego County. Working with the schools and the teachers, members of the Center’s Education staff take live animals to the schools to teach the children lessons in humanity.
Resko adds, “We’re proud that Jimbo’s is recognizing how the Center is working to create a brighter future through humane education. In honor of their generosity we will be placing a Jimbo’s…Naturally logo on the AniMobile.”
