San Diego, CA–The County Medical Examiner’s Office completed an autopsy of an inmate in Sheriff’s Department custody who died at a local hospital last February in San Diego.
The cause of death of 33-year-old Ryan Thuresson was combined fentanyl and flouorofentanyl toxicity. The manner of death was natural, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
On February 1, just before 10 a.m., Thuresson was found alone and unresponsive in his cell. Deputies and medical staff immediately responded, began CPR, and administered Naloxone. Paramedics arrived, took over life-saving measures, and transported him to a local hospital for further treatment.
On February 6, just before 7 a.m., Sheriff’s Homicide investigators were notified that Thuresson had passed away at the hospital.
Thuresson was arrested on October 4, 2022, by the San Diego Police Department and booked into the Vista Detention Facility for two felony warrants. He was also booked on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession, and transportation of a machine gun, manufacturing a controlled substance, child cruelty, and a felon in possession of ammunition.
