HSBCAMPS, Eastbay partner to outfit youth with apparel, camp scholarships

June 4, 2010 By Staff

SAN DIEGO–HSBCAMPS, one of the fastest growing youth basketball camps bringing boys and girls face-to-face with the pros, and Eastbay, a leading world supplier of athletic footwear, apparel and sports equipment, have partnered to reward youth camp participants with HSBCAMPS apparel and shoe discounts.

HSBCAMPS participants and their families will be given access to purchase t-shirts, sweatshirts, and shorts online, as well as basketball shoes at special team rates. 100 percent of the net profits from the apparel sales will be donated to HSBCARES, Inc, a non-profit founded to award camp scholarships, support basketball programs for disabled and underprivileged children, and provide public schools and programs with vital training equipment. In addition, camp scholarships in Eastbay’s name will be awarded to one youth athlete in each of the eight cities where HSBCAMPS will lead its youth basketball sessions this summer.

“We selected Eastbay as our shoe and apparel partner of choice, as it is a trusted and leading supplier of top quality sports gear and apparel,” said Carson Sofro, Founder/Director of HSBCAMPS and HSBCARES, Inc. “Our mission at HSBCAMPS is to offer every child, regardless of age, ability or income, the opportunity to attend camp and be a part of something bigger than themselves. Through this partnership, Eastbay will not only foster our mission through a scholarship fund that will award underprivileged youth with the opportunity to attend camp, but the partnership will also provide us with a vehicle to donate proceeds from the apparel sales to our non-profit partner, HSBCARES.”

Sean Cummings, Director of Eastbay Brand, added, “We are thrilled to be a part of HSBCAMPS and their initiative to bring the great game of basketball to boys and girls. All of the campers will have a terrific experience. We especially appreciate HSBCARES and their mission to bring basketball programs to children who wouldn’t normally be able to afford or participate due to physical or financial obstacles.”

The HSBCAMPS 2010 Morning Clinics and Day Camps, held in Arizona, California, Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Washington, are geared towards teaching and developing the fundamentals of basketball for boys and girls in elementary, middle and high school grades. From team competitions to individual contests, players will participate in fun, instructional work under the direction of the HSBCAMPS staff, comprised of collegiate and professional coaches and players.

Families interested in obtaining a scholarship for the HSBCAMPS youth basketball summer sessions are invited to fill out an application, available online at http://www.hsbcamps.com.
