SAN DIEGO–The San Diego LGBT Community Center and the City of San Diego Human Relations Commission’s Third annual Harvey Milk Diversity Breakfast unites all San Diegans who support equality and justice in celebration of the memory of the life and work of Harvey Milk.
As part of the celebration, organizers will offer high school students an opportunity to participate in the event’s Diversity Breakfast Video Essay contest. The contest is open to all high school students ages 14 to 18 in San Diego County schools. All applicants need to submit an application with their entry. Those under 18 must ensure the parental consent portion of the application is signed by their parents. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Videos are due by 5 p.m. on April 29 and the winner of the contest will be announced on May 6. The winner will receive a $750 prize sponsored by San Diego LGBT Pride and will be featured at the breakfast on May 20. The winner is required to attend the breakfast.
The event begins at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, May 20 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, One Park Boulevard in San Diego.
