The Globe Guilders will host their annual fashion show and luncheon, Celebrating Couture 2016.

SAN DIEGO–The Globe Guilders will host their annual fashion show and luncheon, Celebrating Couture 2016, presented by Neiman Marcus, to benefit The Old Globe’s artistic and arts engagement programs.

Each year, the Globe Guilders Fashion Show features couture expertly selected by Neiman Marcus from the elite designers they represent, including Gucci, Etro, and Tom Ford; runway samples from Monique Lhuillier and Marchesa; and a compelling collection from Naeem Khan. Celebrating Couture 2016 will take place August 22 at the San Diego Marriott Marquis and Marina.

This year’s exclusive runway show will feature the Fall 2016 collections of select celebrated couture and prêt-à-porter designers. Think gorgeous fall looks that graced the runway in New York: blush tones, new florals, and opulent embellishments. Lush velvets and capes will also be part of the mix, and a new feature this year will be the inclusion of show-stopping shoes and on-trend handbags. Greg Collard, Neiman Marcus’s Senior Fashion Producer from Dallas, will be joined by the San Diego Neiman Marcus team to bring together these exquisite fashions for local fashionistas.

Guests will be greeted with a champagne reception at 10:00 a.m., and will have the opportunity to bid on silent auction items. Beginning 12:00 noon, there will be a live auction followed by a delicious luncheon. There will also be couture shopping presented by Neiman Marcus following the show in the Grand Foyer. Former Guilder President Linda Van Vark is the Celebrating Couture 2016 Chair; Honorary Chairs are Barbara and Dick Enberg with Stacey and Robert Foxworth. Over 600 supporters of The Old Globe from the San Diego community are expected to attend, including prominent philanthropists, heads of corporations, and representatives of major organizations.

As the Globe’s volunteer auxiliary, the Globe Guilders have a long-standing tradition of supporting the diverse programs of this unique theatre, San Diego’s largest performing arts institution, and its year-round programming on three stages and strong presence throughout San Diego’s communities. This dedicated membership of women and men utilizes its collective talents and strengths to benefit The Old Globe’s artistic and arts engagement programs. These include Behind-the-Scenes and Follow the Bard Tours, Community Voices, Free Student Matinee Series, Grinch Children’s Initiatives, seminars and forums, program translations, Summer Shakespeare Studio, professional development for teachers, technical center internships and programs, and The Old Globe and University of San Diego Shiley Graduate Theatre Program.

Tickets start at $115. For information on reserving a table or a seat at the Fashion Show, call Barbara Bolt at (619) 889-7121 or visit www.globeguilders.org/celebrating-couture-2016.
