Free Travel On State Route 125 Toll Road This Saturday

June 26, 2012 By sdcnews

SAN DIEGO–This Saturday, San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) will waive tolls for all users of the South Bay Expressway (State Route 125 toll road) between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. as part of its festivities celebrating toll reductions.

SANDAG will host a celebration of the toll reductions from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 30 at Otay Ranch Town Center, 2015 Birch Road in Chula Vista. The public is invited, and free travel on the toll road will be a convenient way to get to the event.

The free festivities will include live music from J.D. and the Blues Busters, a classic car show, face painters, a 50-foot truck with video game consoles inside, an ice luge sculpture featuring Naked Juice samples, prize drawings, and much more. More than 30 exhibitors will be at the event offering everything from chair massages to crafts and kids’ activities.

Those who don’t plan to take part in the festivities are still encouraged to try out the Expressway for free. The toll road extends for 10 miles through eastern Chula Vista from State Route 905 in Otay Mesa to State Route 54 in Spring Valley, providing convenient access to Downtown San Diego, Sorrento Valley, East County, Interstates 8 and 15, and the Otay Mesa Port of Entry.
