SAN DIEGO–Heart disease is the number one killer of women – claiming more lives each year than all forms of cancer combined. High cholesterol is a leading indicator of heart disease, but knowing if you have high cholesterol will help you make dietary and other changes needed to lead a heart healthy lifestyle. Palomar Pomerado Health (PPH) is proud to welcome the Cheerios Circle of Helping Hearts Tour, in partnership with WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease, as they conduct free cholesterol screenings at PPH San Marcos and the Jean McLaughlin Women’s Center.
Free screenings provided to women will include total cholesterol, blood pressure, body mass index and blood glucose. The first opportunity will be held on Wednesday, March 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at PPH San Marcos, followed by a second screening on Thursday, March 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Jean McLaughlin Women’s Center in Poway.
All participants will also receive a free red bag of Courageâ.
The health screenings will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., March 2 at Palomar Pomerado Health ( lobby/courtyard), 120 Craven Road, San Marcos, and Jean McLaughlin Women’s Center (Pomerado Outpatient pavilion/lobby) from 10 a.m. to p.m., March 3, 15611 Pomerado Road, Poway.
