The Ford Foundation has announced $1 million in grants to support urgent humanitarian relief efforts for victims of last week’s earthquake in Haiti.
“All of us at the Ford Foundation stand with the people of Haiti in this extraordinarily challenging time,” said Luis A. Ubinas, president of the Ford Foundation. “Both Oxfam International and Partners in Health are long-time grantees of the Ford Foundation. Their track record in Haiti gives them a deep familiarity with the country and positions them to serve as strong leaders in emergency relief and recovery efforts.”
The grants, for $500,000 each, will go to Oxfam International and Partners in Health, two organizations with longstanding operations on the ground in Haiti.
