FALLBROOK–A free all-day seminar designed to acquaint first-time home-buyers with federal and local government incentive programs as well as current requirements for homeownership is scheduled for Saturday, May 1.
The seminar is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Fallbrook Public Utility District offices, 990 E. Mission Rd. in Fallbrook.
Stephanie Murphy, a consultant with Money Management International and lead presenter, said attendees will receive up-to-date information about new and existing government programs, including those expiring soon, and tips on meeting obligations to avoid foreclosure.
“Several locally funded programs and incentives exist to help those who’ve never owned a home before take the first steps toward buying their first home,” Murphy said. “Some state and federal programs are nearing expiration either because ending dates are imminent or available funds are tapped out. Prospective homebuyers need to know which are still available.”
These seminars sponsored by San Diego County’s Down Payment Assistance Program, are obligation-free for attendees, she said, and added that registration for the seminar is online only at www.crediteducation.org.
Experts from The Jacques Company, a major San Diego real estate firm, and US Bank will provide current information on the market and lending requirements.
