Felony Warrant Suspect Leads Deputies In Traffic Pursuit

June 19, 2018 By sdcnews

LEMON GROVE–A man with an active felony warrant Monday led Sheriff’s deputies on a short traffic pursuit, authorities said.

Ronnie Lawrence was arrested for the outstanding felony warrant, and for evading a police officer with disregard to public safety.

While on patrol in the area of Kempf Street and Lincoln Avenue in Lemon Grove, Deputies noticed a blue Toyota Corolla being driven by Ronnie Lawrence, known to be wanted for an active felony warrant. Deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop near the intersection of Kempf St and Broadway. Lawrence failed to yield for the patrol car, and a short vehicle pursuit ensued. The vehicle eventually stopped in the 9000 block of Kenwood Drive in Spring Valley. Lawrence fled from the vehicle and into a nearby apartment complex.

Deputies received information that Lawrence was hidden inside of an apartment at the complex. Lawrence peacefully surrendered a short time later.
