San Clemente, CA–San Diego Border Patrol agents at the San Clemente Station arrested a driver with an active felony warrant.
On Wednesday afternoon, Border Patrol agents on routine patrol stopped a vehicle on Interstate 15 near the Cristianitos Road exit. Records check on the U.S. citizen driver revealed that he had an active felony warrant and was considered armed and dangerous. He was placed under arrest without incident.
While searching the vehicle, a loaded pistol and unassembled parts of an AR-15 rifle were found. Neither firearm had serial numbers.
The man, along with the two firearms, were turned over to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives for further investigation and possible prosecution.
