False bomb threat forces lockdown at Carlsbad school

CARLSBAD–A Carlsbad school was placed on lockdown Thursday morning after a student made a comment about a bomb in the library.

Carlsbad police received a call at 10:56 a.m. from personnel at the Valley Jr. High School. The individual indicated a student had made a comment to another student that a bomb was in the library.

The school was placed on lockdown and the library was evacuated. No bomb was found and the school was back in session.

The student was not arrested.
