FALLBROOK–The public is invited to attend the next general meeting of the Fallbrook Art Association. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m., Monday February 14 at the Fallbrook Public Utilities Department Building, 990 E. Mission Road in Fallbrook.
Michael Graves will be the featured artist and oil painting demonstrator. There will be an informal critique session from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Attendees may bring one or two works that are in progress in any media, and Graves will share his expertise by providing comments that will assist the artists in the development of their work.
Graves, a resident of Massachusetts, is an on location oil painter who works in an Impressionistic style. During his career he has received more than forty awards and six medals for his paintings. He received the Founders Favorite Award and Marine Art Medal both from the National Park Academy of the Arts. His work has been included in American Artist magazine and the Rockford Publishers Best of Oil Paintings. His paintings are in private collections across the country, and galleries in Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Utah, Maryland, Ohio, and Wyoming represent him.
Graves will be conducting a workshop from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday February 19. The cost for the workshop is $30 for members of the Fallbrook Art Association and
A member of the Fallbrook Art Association, Barry Koral, will be showing his paintings at Studio 105 at the Brandon Gallery during the month of February. Koral studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, the University of Illinois, and the Illinois Institute of Technology. There will be a reception at the Brandon Gallery for Koral on Saturday February 5 from 4 pm to 7 pm.
