VISTA–Experience what life was like for early Californians at Rancho Guajome Adobe’s fourth annual “Fiesta at Guajome,” hosted by the County of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department.
Participants can enjoy Native American and Hispanic traditions, including a performance by Escaramuza las Golondrinas, a female equestrian team that replicates the customs of aristocratic 19th century women who were only allowed to ride during particular fiestas and processions.
The event will also feature blacksmith demonstrations, a tortilla-making workshop, and ballet folklórico, and the 28-room historical adobe will be decorated in period décor. Children can also make crafts such as a miniature piñata, personalized maraca, or pinwheel.
Rancho Guajome Adobe is located at 2210 N. Santa Fe Ave. (near Highway 76) in Vista.
Tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for children ages four to 12. Children under four are free. For more information, call (760) 724-4082.
