Oceanside, CA–The vibrant sights, sounds, and flavors of the Philippines will come alive in downtown Oceanside on June 14, as the Filipino-American Cultural Organization (FACO) and the Oceanside Public Library present the 24th annual Filipino Cultural Celebration.
The event’s theme, Philippine Arts & Culture at its Best!, highlights the rich heritage and enduring traditions of Filipino communities.
Festivities will take place from 12 to 6 p.m. at the Oceanside Civic Center Plaza and Pier View Way. The event is free and open to the public.
Visitors can expect a lively afternoon filled with traditional folk dancing, live music, and cultural performances. The FACO Cultural Dance Group will showcase dances from Mindanao and the Visayan Islands, while a fashion show will feature Filipiniana attire, reflecting its evolution across generations.
Local Filipino-American artists and performers will take the stage throughout the day, and food vendors will offer a taste of authentic Filipino cuisine. A variety of vendors will also be on hand, presenting handmade crafts, cultural goods, and community services.
The celebration will also honor academic achievement, with scholarships awarded to outstanding Filipino-American high school seniors from North San Diego County and students in the Philippines.
In conjunction with the festivities, the Friends of the Oceanside Public Library will host a book sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Civic Center Plaza, with proceeds supporting library programs and services.
Founded in 1976, FACO is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Filipino culture through education, community engagement, and charitable efforts.
