SAN DIEGO–Thousands of party-goers are expected to pack downtown San Diego February 6 for the 22nd annual Gaslamp Quarter Mardi Gras Parade and celebration.
More than ten blocks in the Gaslamp District will be transformed into a Mardi Gras paradise, complete with five stages of music, masked go-go dancers, samba performances, live art, roving entertainment, food, and of course – beads.
Hip-hop trio Bone Thugs-N-Harmony will perform live on the King Club Stage. Sharing the stage is DJ Jam (DJ for Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre), Mix Master Mike (of the Beastie Boys), DeeJay Al, and Saman.
The Canal Street Stage presented by Parq and Party Naked will be serving plenty of whomp and heavy bass to get the crowds amped throughout the night. Headlined by melodic dubstep genius Minnesota, this EDM stage will be featuring glitch-hop, bass, trap, and electro-house among a wide variety of other EDM music DJs.
Dirty Reggae legends, The Aggrolites, will be jamming on the Tin Roof Krewe du Vieux Live Music Stage. Sultry songstresses, guitars, tubas, trumpets, and guitars will fill this block with noteworthy live performances from Cassie B Project, Calphonics, DJ Man Cat, The Village Squares, and others.
The Rue Carnival Brazilian Arts Stage is the epicenter of creativity for the Gaslamp Quarter Mardi Gras. Brazilian performances brought to you by the hottest Samba Queens from San Francisco and Santa Barbara who will spice the night. This stage will also feature live art by Nicole Diaz and live body painting from world famous body painter and winner of Skin Wars, Lana Chromium. This open format stage will feature music from DJ Ramsey, DJ Potira, Kaos, and DJ D Lo.
One the Treme Silent Disco Stage, two DJs will be dueling for the audience’s attention as they perform at the same time over two separate frequencies, picked up by wireless headphones provided at the block entrance.
The Big Easy Parade will feature music groups, roving performers, specialty acts, car clubs, Mardi Gras krewes, and New Orleans-like floats. Viewers can expect to be enticed by floats from The Field, Pure Platinum, Tin Roof, Déjà Vu Showgirls of San Diego, and others.
The party kicks off from 5 p.m. to midnight in the Gaslamp District.
General admission is $45 through January 27, $55 through February 5, and $60 on the day of the event. For active duty military (with valid ID), GA tickets start at $35 through January 27, $40 through February 5, and $45 on February 6.
VIP admission include an exclusive night on the town complete with VIP entrance, restrooms, three complimentary beverages, and private area. Tickets are $75 through January 27, $90 through February 5, and $100 on the day of the event. VIP military tickets are $65 through January 27, $80 through February 5, and $90 on the day of the event.
Food and drink packages feature a combination ticket that includes admission along with a $30 food/beverage credit at participating venues. These packages are just $60 for GA and $90 for VIP. This is the perfect option for those who want to enjoy a delicious meal, a cold beer, and/or an expertly crafted cocktail before or during the festivities.
Attendees must be 21 years or older and have a valid ID to enter. Proceeds from the event benefit the Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation whose mission is to preserve the history and culture of the Gaslamp Quarter and providing a living history of San Diego.
