Elton John returns to San Diego this July

April 19, 2010 By Staff

SAN DIEGO–Rock legend Elton John will appear live on Saturday, July 24 at Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre in July.

The singer has a long and illustrious live history in the city, with the San Diego Reader highlighting him in a feature honoring the greatest concerts in its history. This will mark Elton’s first appearance in the San Diego area since his sold out performance in 2005.

Elton and his band will perform their ‘Rocket Man – the Greatest Hits Live’ concert, featuring number one chart hits and classic album tracks from throughout Elton’s incredible five-decade career.

Elton’s band comprises Davey Johnstone on guitar, Bob Birch on bass, John Mahon on percussion, Nigel Olsson on drums and Kim Bullard on keyboards. One of the most successful live acts on the road today, Elton and his band put on the kind of concert you never forget: the entire audience standing, dancing and singing along with much-loved classic songs such as “Your Song”, “Daniel”, “Rocket Man”, “Bennie and the Jets” and many, many more.
