SANTEE–A man was arrested after he forcibly snatched an elderly woman’s purse in Santee, Sheriff’s deputies said Monday.
Deputies arrested 29-year-old Jesse James Farquar for robbery, elder abuse and possession of narcotics. He was booked into San Diego Central Jail.
Deputies say the robbery occurred just after 4 p.m. in the 9600 block of Mission Gorge Road.
The 91-year-old victim provided deputies with a description of the robbery suspect, his vehicle and a direction of travel. Santee deputies, with the assistance of Lakeside Deputies, the San Diego Sheriff’s K-9 Unit and ASTREA helicopter were able to locate the man in his vehicle in a parking lot in the 8500 block of North Magnolia Avenue in Santee.
Deputies were able to locate the stolen purse and cash belonging to the victim. Upon the return of her property, the victim became very emotional, cried and hugged all of the deputies on scene.
