RAMONA–An elderly man was arrested for allegedly shooting from inside his home, striking a resident in his leg, Sheriff’s deputies said Friday.
Ramona Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to a radio call of a shooting in the 1200 block of H Street in Ramona. When deputies arrived, they located an injured victim, who identified the suspect as 86-year-old Don Aspin.
Deputies were told that the suspect was inside the residence and was armed with a handgun and a rifle. Reportedly, the suspect fired several rounds from inside his bedroom, though his bedroom door and one of the rounds struck the victim in the leg. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of an injury that is not considered to be life threatening.
