September 15, 2010 By Staff

EL CAJON–El Cajon police are searching for a man who shot a teenager in his thigh Tuesday evening in front of a residence.

Officers responded to a 911 call of a male subject calling for help. When the officers arrive they determined the lone adult male victim had suffered a single non-life threatening gunshot wound to his upper thigh.

The 18 year old victim told officers he and his cousin were sitting in front of Wisconsin Street when they were confronted by a man. The victim ran and was shot in the leg as he fled. Officers arriving on scene located alcoholic beverages in the area where the shooting is believed to have occurred.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, approx. 20 years old, 5’- 5” tall, 140 lbs., thin build, bald, wearing a grey sweater. It is unknown if this shooting is gang related at this time. The victim was subsequently transported to Sharp Hospital for treatment.
