EL CAJON–Authorities in Las Vegas, Nevada arrested an 18-year-old man accused of shooting a teen on December 4 near an unlicensed marijuana dispensary in unincorporated El Cajon.
On December 11, at about 11 p.m., members of the United States Marshal Service Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force in Las Vegas arrested Richard Bell, of El Cajon inside of a hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Bell is being held on $2,000,000 bail for the fugitive warrant and is awaiting extradition proceedings to be returned to San Diego county. He has reached out to a bail bonding company for assistance.
On December 8, an arrest warrant was issued in San Diego county for Bell for the charge of attempted murder of the teen.
The incident is not believed to be related to the operations of the unlicensed dispensary. The investigation is on-going, and the shooting is believed to be gang-related, according to authorities.
On December 4, at about 12 p.m., deputies from the Lakeside Sheriff’s Substation responded to a call of a shooting in the 1600 block of N. 2nd Street in unincorporated El Cajon. The 16-year-old victim was located by officers from El Cajon Police Department several blocks away on 2nd Street in El Cajon. The teen suffered from several gunshot wounds but is expected to survive.
