January 3, 2021 By sdcnews

OCEANSIDE–A 30-year-old man died early Saturday morning from a two-vehicle collision in Oceanside, according to the Oceanside Police Department.

Shortly after 12 a.m., police officers responded to calls of a serious injury traffic collision involving the vehicles within the intersection of Oceanside and College Boulevards.

Upon arrival, officers located one of the involved drivers still sitting in their vehicle. At that time, the driver was unconscious. Despite life saving measures, the driver was declared dead on scene. The driver of the second involved vehicle, a 27-year-old man, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

Traffic investigators report that the victim was traveling southbound on College Blvd. and was traveling through the intersection of Oceanside Blvd. when he was broadsided by the other involved party that was traveling eastbound on Oceanside Blvd.

The driver’s name is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin.

Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to call Accident Investigator Bussey at (760)435-4412.
