SAN DIEGO–On Saturday, a 2000 Dodge Stratus with a male driver and two female passengers was traveling westbound on the 4800 block of Friars Road when the vehicle struck the north curb of 4800 Friars Road and drove up the embankment.
The vehicle struck a large boulder and caught on fire. The females were unable to get out of the vehicle and died at the scene. The driver, Antonio Schoenle, 20, was able to escape from the vehicle. Schoenle was transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
Schoenle was arrested Wednesday at the hospital for two counts of felony manslaughter, felony DUI, and providing false information.
