SAN DIEGO–San Diego nonprofit ConnectMed International, which provides free surgeries, multidisciplinary team care and follow-ups for children and teens with physical deformities, will host its 6th annual fundraising gala on Nov. 4 at Admiral Baker Clubhouse in San Diego.
The gala will highlight the nonprofit’s partnership with surgeons in a pediatric hospital in Chiapas, Mexico, the poorest region of the country with over 75 percent of its population living in poverty. ConnectMed International seeks to raise over $75,000 at the event.
“We pride ourselves in ethically responsible medical care, which means safe, quality care, regardless of the location or economic status of the community,” said ConnectMed President Dr. Amanda Gosman. “After surgery is conducted, it’s vital for local medical practitioners to have resources to provide ongoing care and ensure a full recovery.”
Collaboration with local healthcare partners ensures each patient receives care by a team of specialists trained to meet his or her needs, even after the ConnectMed team is no longer present. ConnectMed helps provide support needed by local practitioners, including educational, financial and volunteer resources.
The fundraiser will feature Catrina face painters, wines from the Valle de Guadalupe, including Vinos Bibayoff and Vinos Emiliana, a hosted bar and more. There will be a live performance by Latin Grammy presenter and artist Alvera de Leon.
The gala will be held at 2400 Admiral Baker Road in San Diego. Admission tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available.
