SAN FRANCISCO– The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) is investigating the cause of the explosion and fire that occurred in San Bruno on Thursday evening.
The CPUC currently has an investigator on the scene to obtain evidence, and during the next few days will work with local officials and federal agencies to gather all relevant information about the incident and obtain information from Pacific Gas and Electric Company.
“Our thoughts are with the many families that have suffered losses, injuries, and displacement,” said CPUC Executive Director Paul Clanon. “Our trained experts will get to the root cause of the explosion and fire.”
