SAN MARCOS–Patrol unit from the San Marcos Station attempted a traffic stop on a black Dodge Durango at Nordahl Road and El Norte Parkway Road for running a red signal light. The vehicle failed to yield and was pursued southbound on Interstate 15.
The vehicle eventually exited the freeway at Via Rancho Parkway and entered the parking lot at the North County Fair. As the deputy continued to pursue the vehicle, the suspect crashed through a chain link fence, drove up an embankment and re-entered the freeway. As the suspect vehicle returned to the freeway, the passenger threw an unloaded firearm from the car. California Highway Patrol units assisted in the pursuit, following the vehicle to northbound Interstate 15 and Highway 76. At Interstate 15 and Highway 76, the vehicle exited the freeway, did a u-turn and then attemped to re-enter the freeway traveling the wrong direction.
Patrol units from the CHP attempted to stop the suspect vehicle, however as the suspect vehicle continued to evade law enforcement, the vehicle rolled over near the off ramp. A male identified as Adam Heath, and female identified asTatiana Nedeljkovic, were removed from the vehicle and taken into custody. Inside the vehcle an additional handgun was located, as well as, drugs and potential stolen property. Both suspects were booked into the Vista Detention Facility on multiple felony charges and multiple felony warrants.
