San Diego, CA–The San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Quality has lifted the water contact closure for the Silver Strand shoreline.
Recent water quality testing confirms the water meets state health standards.
The ocean shoreline from the International Border to the north end of Imperial Beach will remain closed until sampling confirms these areas are safe for water contact.
Earlier this month, public health officials had ordered the closure of the Silver Strand shoreline due to sewage-contaminated water flows from the U.S. Mexican border.
