San Diego, CA–The San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Quality has lifted the water contact closure for the Silver Strand shoreline.
County health officials said recent water quality testing confirms that cross-boundary flows are no longer impacting these beaches. Last month, the shoreline was closed due to sewage-contaminated water from the International Border.
The ocean shoreline from the International Border to the north end of Imperial Beach will remain closed until sampling confirms these areas are safe for water contact.
