County health extends closure for Silver Strand shoreline due to sewage-contamination

San Diego, CA–County health has extended the existing water contact closure for the ocean shoreline from Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge through Imperial Beach to include the Silver Strand shoreline due to sewage-contaminated water.

Signs warning of sewage-contaminated water will remain in place until sampling results indicate the ocean water is safe for recreational use, the County of San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality said.
