SAN DIEGO–Dr. Bonnie Ann Dowd, San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) Executive Vice Chancellor of Business Services, has been elected the president of the Association of Chief Business Officials (ACBO) for the California Community Colleges. The Association represents the 112 colleges of the California Community College system, which serves over 2.5 million students.
Dr. Dowd has served as the president-elect since the fall 2010. She will serve a two-year term as president. In addition, she was recently appointed by State Community College system Chancellor Jack Scott to serve on the City of San Diego and County of San Diego Oversight Boards to the Successor Agencies for Redevelopment Agencies throughout the state.
She has also served as a coordinator and facilitator of ACBO’s Leadership Institute, Conference Chair of ACBO’s 2009 Fall Conference, Financing Authority Board of the Community College League of California (CCLC), and the CCLC Joint Powers Authority Retiree Benefits Board.
Dr. Dowd possesses an Ed.D. in Leadership Studies from the University of San Diego, an MBA in Financial Management, a BBA in Accounting, an AAS in Business, and she is a licensed Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
