The Chargers have signed kicker Nick Novak to a one-year contract.
The 6-0, 198-pound Novak kicked for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2008. That season he converted six of 10 field goal attempts in six games. Prior to the Chiefs, he played for the Washington Redskins and Arizona Cardinals in 2005-06, combining to make 13 of 20 field goals. He is a native of Charlottesville, Virginia and a graduate of the University of Maryland.
Kicker Nate Kaeding continues to rehab a groin injury sustained in practice prior to the 2010 Pro Bowl.
