San Diego Chargers Head Coach Norv Turner announced Sept. 9 that the players voted for team captains for the 2011 season and selected Philip Rivers and Nick Hardwick as offensive captains; Takeo Spikes and Eric Weddle as defensive captains, and Jacob Hester as special teams captain.
This is the sixth-consecutive year Rivers has served as a captain. Spikes, Weddle and Hester are each first-time captains. This is Hardwick’s second year in a row as a captain.
