Centre City community planning group elections Oct. 25 and 26

October 6, 2010 By Staff

SAN DIEGO–Downtown residents, property and business owners will be heading to the polls on Oct. 25 and 26 to elect 11 representatives to two-year terms on the Centre City Advisory Committee (CCAC). The 28-member committee is a citizen-run advisory board to the Centre City Development Corporation (CCDC), City of San Diego Redevelopment Agency, City Council and the Planning Commission.

“The CCAC is an important advisory group in the downtown redevelopment process,” said CCDC Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Frank Alessi. “Residents and business owners who care about downtown’s future are encouraged to come out and vote, or become a candidate.”

The CCAC reviews proposed downtown redevelopment projects and plans as well as advises on such matters affecting downtown as neighborhood development, public infrastructure, social issues, homelessness, crime and transportation needs.
