Center Chorale Teams Up With Local Colleges For Spring Concert‏

ESCONDIDO–The California Center for the Arts, Escondido kicks off the spring season with a performance of the Fauré Requiem by The Center Chorale, The Center’s 47-voice adult ensemble.

Performing with them is the Palomar Chorale and Chamber Singers and the Mira Costa College Masterworks Chorale on Sunday, March 24 at 3:00 pm in the Concert Hall. A second concert will be performed at the Mira Costa College Concert Hall on March 22nd at 7:30 pm.

These concerts will include the Fauré Requiem performed by all the chorales and ensembles, as well as several spring selections from each choir. The Fauré Requiem will feature the Festival Orchestra with Branden Muresan, concertmaster and soloists, Katie Walders, soprano and John Polhamus, bass. The concerts will be directed by Dr. Joe Stanford.

The Escondido Choral Arts is the new music performance and education program for the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. It consists of the three levels of Children’s Choruses (Grades 2-12) and the adult Center Chorale.

The program’s director, Dr. Joe Stanford, is the past chair of the Palomar College Performing Arts Department and led the Palomar Chorale for most of his 37 years at the college. Under his direction, the ensemble performed hundreds of concerts in the region as well as in Europe, Mexico and New York’s Carnegie Hall.

Tickets for the California Center for the Arts, Escondido concert may be purchased by phone at  (800) 988-4235, or online at www.artcenter.org.

Ticket prices are $5-25 for Adults, $5-20 for students (ID required), $5-20 for seniors 60+, $5-20 for military and free for children 12 and under.
