SAN PEDRO, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Catalina Express, the only ferry company in Southern California offering regularly scheduled daily service from four mainland ports to Santa Catalina Island, is moving its San Pedro passenger terminal to a fresh new facility within just feet of the old one and will be open for service in time for the summer season. The multi-million dollar project in cooperation with the Port of Los Angeles includes an upgrade of the adjacent passenger parking.
What this means to passengers, is that Catalina Express will continue service in San Pedro, with enhanced docking facilities, passenger ticketing, and food service lounge with deli, beer and wine. The all-new accommodations are beautifully designed with emphasis on passenger convenience and comfort. The same parking along the promenade has been resurfaced, and a 14,000 square foot landscaped, canopied patio area has been added to the terminal.
Catalina Express is an unparalleled resource in Southern California, and one of the world’s most respected ferry fleets. As Catalina Express celebrates its 30th year of operation, its crews on land and sea expect to carry more than one million passengers—tourists and otherwise—in nearly 10,000 crossings from their mainland ports and ports on Catalina Island.
