Carlsbad Police Seeks Public’s Help To Locate Potential Victims Of Sexual Assault

June 11, 2019 By sdcnews

Michael Fangman

CARLSBAD–Investigators at the Carlsbad Police Department are asking for the public’s help to find any additional potential victims of sexual assault.

On June 7 at 8:23 a.m., police officers arrested 47-year-old Michael Fangman of Carlsbad. Fangman was arrested for the sexual assault of a 16-year-old female. He was arrested at his Carlsbad residence.

The investigation began on March 18, when the juvenile reported to the police department that she had been sexually assaulted by Fangman.  Fangman and the victim met online.

During the investigation, detectives discovered additional females who had been reportedly sexually assaulted by Fangman. There are currently 3 victims and investigators think there may be more.

Anyone who has been a victim or has information is asked to contact the Police Department’s tip line TipLine@CarlsbadCA.gov or (760) 931-3819.

Fangman was booked into the Vista Detention Facility. His bail is set at one million dollars.

The investigation is ongoing.
