Carlsbad Police Officers’ Association reaches out to families in need

December 28, 2009 By sdcnews

CARLSBAD–On December 23, Santa’s sleigh took on a different shape in the form of an antique fire engine, several police vehicles and a police motorcycle as the Carlsbad Police Officers Association (CPOA) adopted two Carlsbad families in need for the holidays. With the assistance of members of the CPOA, members of the Carlsbad Firefighters’ Association (CFA), Keith Blackburn and city employees two families in Carlsbad had the spirit of Christmas delivered to their doorstep.

The two families which included five children ranging in age from four years old to 13 were provided with toys, clothing, gift cards and necessities that the families would have been without this season.

The CPOA would like to thank the following people for helping make this miracle happen: Keith Blackburn, Carlsbad City Employees, No Fear, Play It Again Sports (Encinitas), Legoland, Bella D’ora Spa, The Disney Store (Carlsbad) and Target (Vista) along with several anonymous donations.
