CARLSBAD–Registration is now open for the City of Carlsbad Parks and Recreation Department two new canine classes at the new Alga Norte Community Park.
Puppy preschool will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 7, from 8 to 8:55 a.m. for puppies 8 weeks and older. Using positive reinforcement, puppies will learn basic commands and handling skills, and how to walk properly on a leash. Dog agility classes begin on Wednesday, Jan. 8, from 3 to 3:55 p.m. for dogs and puppies at least 3 months old. In this class, dogs will be introduced to agility obstacles, sequencing and a variety of handler turns. Both classes are high energy and will present opportunities to socialize and make new friends at the city’s newest off-leash dog park and training area.
