CARLSBAD–The city’s William D. Cannon Art Gallery will present the 2012 Cannon Art Gallery Invitational, an exhibition featuring the work of Robert Ecker, Becky Guttin, Roy Jenuine, Robert Nelson and Sasha Koozel Reibstein.
The biannual Cannon Invitational provides an opportunity to showcase a select few of the artists from the most recent Juried Biennial and present their work in greater depth.
The exhibition opens January 22 and continues through March 11 at the William D. Cannon Art Gallery in the Carlsbad City Library Complex, 1775 Dove Lane at El Camino Real.
The 2012 Cannon Invitational is a unique amalgamation of the work of five San Diego County artists, designed to appeal to a broad audience through its several disciplines and areas of interest.
The artists selected by the Gallery’s Curator of Exhibitions, Karen McGuire, from the 61 artists featured in The 2011 Juried Biennial exhibition include Robert Ecker, painter, Escondido; Becky Guttin, installation artist, San Diego; Roy Jenuine, sculptor and assemblage artist, Encinitas; Robert Nelson, graphite draftsman, San Diego;
Sasha Koozel Reibstein, ceramicist, San Marcos
Operated by the Carlsbad Arts Office, the Cannon Art Gallery is a focal point for arts and culture in San Diego’s North County, offering a broad range of exhibitions, school and family programs, gallery tours, lectures and publications to the community. It is located at 1775 Dove Lane off El Camino Real and is open to the public Tuesdays through Sundays.
